Green Shrimp

Scientific Name: Caridina babaulti var. green

Common Name: Green Shrimp

Size: males 2.5cm, females 3cm

Temperature: 68-86°F / 20-30°C, but can tolerate as low as 41°F / 5°C and as high as 90°F / 32°C. Ideal temp. ~23°C

Water Parameters: Alkaline (pH 7.5+) water only, soft to medium hardness

Food: Algae, fish foods, vegetables and some fruits. Occassional rabbit pellets and rice acceptable. Does not eat plants

Origin: India
Breeding: Larval development is completely suppressed (no planktonic larval stage). Shrimplets become benthic immediately after hatching. Shrimplets of this species are particularly small and grow slowly.
